Have you ever wondered just what to say and do when you’re out with your young child and you meet another child (or adult) with a disability, and you so badly want to be cool and embracing and facilitate a friendship, and coach your child to be just as gracious as you picture yourself being? But then… your child loudly shouts something you deem inappropriate and embarrassing, and then you just don’t know how to recover, so you shush your kid and slink away? Sigh. We can do better.
